: Remember at the end where the pred commited suicide with that explosion, well if the pred character has under 40, why not allow it to explode at the players choice? with say a 20 second timer. and that the last person to hit the pred will become the new pred. Make it so that you get 1 frag for each marine killed. Just a thought. Oh, and if you want a nice map made for the mod let me know.. I'll be more than willing... :)

The "suicide" thing has been talked about for some time. There are a couple of issues surrounding it that need to be resolved first.
For example, currently a suiciding predator respawns as predator. We have to add code to switch predators based on some criteria (last shot,
lowest score, whatever).

Secondly, I'm not sure that the average player would suicide that readily. I know when I'm playing you're gonna have to hunt my ragged
ass down. :^}
Remember, the predator can regenerate if it can find a quiet corner for a while.

On the other hand, imagine a suicide bomb like the nuke in the Rogue mission pack. Run away! :^0

As for maps, great!

There are a few things to think about with NH maps:

1) Maps with no "sky", limited water, slime, or lava generally favor the predator as marines
have to use their flashlights more often. For example: q2dm8

2) Maps that are very linear tend to favor the marines as its difficult for the predator to
backtrack and avoid stand up fights. Conversely, maps with a lot of different paths are better
for the predator as it's easier to escape. Again, see q2dm8.

3) The rocket launcher is the primary marine weapon, obviously. Maps where the rocket launcher
is difficult to get to, or very exposed tend to favor the predator. Maps where there is a wealth
of rockets tends to favor the marines.

4) Maps where the quad and invulnerability (IR goggles) are easily accessible tend to see a lot of
quick "runs" of kills. For example, q2dm2 (Tokay's) sees a lot of this, plus a lot of fighting
around the quad pool. Another level with both a quad and a invuln, q2dm3 (Frag Pipe) sees this less
because the two power ups are more difficult to get to.

5) NH is a camping game. For both marines and predators, at times. Maps with ledges, ladders, cubby holes,
etc are more "fun", IMO.

6) Maps with the power armor tend to favor the marines, for obvious reasons. However, its a lot of fun to
watch marines bank off 3 or 4 walls when they get shot. :^}

7) The predators main weapon is the rail gun. The rail gun lives for really long shots. The farther away the
target is the better. So, maps where very long shots are possible (Outlands) tends to favor the predator.

These are just a few things to keep in mind when doing a map specifically for NH. Good luck. :^}
