: I'm running the latest version of the linux server and

: they're just behaving wierd.)
: set flare_health (>0) -> can't kill the flare no matter
: what I shoot it with, but I can stomp on it and it
: goes out (as predator or marine)
: set flare_damage (>0) -> I can step on it but it actually
: raises the health of the person stepping on it. (Haven't
: tried this variable alone) (as predator or marine)
: set flare_damage_radius (>0) -> seems to work, but it
: enhances health, it doesn't take any away. (predator or marine)

: I saw funky stuff with chaos cause it was linked against
: libc5, just had to make sure the ld.so.conf was correct
: and it found the stuff it needed, but your mod is statically
: linked, so it doesn't seem like that could be a problem.
Ummm, this is my fault. I did it. I confess.
Originally, I intended the flares to do damage when they directly hit someone.
Also, the flares would "die" when shot, etc. However, these ideas weren't very
popular so they were dropped. I left the server variables in the code "just in case".
BatMax and I will discuss the flare behavior and decide if it's worth doing anything
about it. The server variables will probably be removed in the next release.
Sorry for the confusion.
: BTW - this mod is the fave of the office, we played chaos
: for a long while before this and thought nothing could touch
: it. This did, and we all thank you for the hard work.
Thanks. Actually, it's not hard work at all. BatMax and I probably have more fun
programming the mod than actually playing (and we have a LOT of fun playing). :^}
: One more thing, could you give a server variable for the
: predator skin so we can set one without having to wait
: for the new one? I like the tyrant, he's got a plenty
: different outline.
Well, we're looking at a "standard" predator model and skin ourselves. However, I see
no reason why server admins can't pick their own. BatMax, BatCat, and I will discuss it
and see what's to be done.
Truthfully, no matter what we do, there will probably be a server variable to set these
things. You've seen that I believe in server variables. :^}.
Actually, it's just that I don't believe in having to re-edit the code just to
change something trivial like a skin or model.
Look for something in the upcoming 1.5 release.
